If you are a dentist, then you may be thinking to yourself, dogs are not teeth! In this case I happen to not be talking about teeth. I'm using the other definition for a dog; another name for a dog. Dogs travel in a pack that they consider their family. Since dogs are canine, it tells the owner that they need a lot of love and affection. Dogs also have a way of showing their emotions. For example, when a dog is angry he growls, when he is excited he wags his tail, and when he is sad he whines or makes puppy eyes. This is the exact opposite of a cat. Cats tend to have very simple ways of showing their emotions, in which they hiss to indicate danger and purr when they are happy. Another difference would be that dogs are known to be much more intelligent than cats. In most cases, almost all dogs respond when you call their name. Dogs also have a very strong sense of smell and have the ability to respond with actions to commands such as sit, talk, jump, roll over and fetch. These skills allow dogs to be used for purposes other than just a pet. The dogs can be used as eyes for the blind or handicapped, or as search and rescue dogs, where they are trained to use their keen sense of smell and keen hearing to search for missing people and sniff out illegals.
