Topic > Armenian Genocide Turning Point - 1566

With the knowledge of a previous attack against Christian groups, the lack of aid coming from around the world is surprising. An article published in 1920 states: “Armenia is a victim of both war and peace, persecuted by its enemies and now almost abandoned by its friends.” 9 Although the Armenians enjoyed the world's sympathy, "the fear of opening the troublesome Eastern question... held back the administration of justice." 10 Armenia looked to Germany, Russia, Britain and America but found no relief. For the Armenians, "no government or nation has ever attempted to stop" 11 the attacks against them. During these attacks, the Armenian Genocide was estimated to have had “a million or 1.5 million victims”.
