Our society has become very diverse. Law enforcement (local, state, and federal) for our changing society must include greater representation of women and minorities, dramatically improved leadership skills, and strengthen community policing. These are all issues of great importance, which will no longer be put aside. The impact of my career goals has not changed on law enforcement, just my thoughts. So to be efficient and effective, this education really needs to be reinstated as a requirement in all states. At least, at least an Associates in Criminal Justice. Thereafter, education should continue to be ongoing, to keep better policing as an ongoing goal. Achieving this goal will last the officer's entire career. The reason for this is that the scale of crime problems has changed and is likely to change again. As I stated before, the right criminal behind bars is important to me. There have been too many innocent people put in prison for life, for a variety of reasons. Nowadays technology makes it much harder for an innocent person to be convicted, but it can still happen.
