Topic > Argumentative Essay on Immigration - 1158

Illegal immigration means entering a foreign country without the required authentication or living beyond the period stipulated in the authentication document. The world as a whole is facing a challenge in how to handle immigration cases. The latest development in immigration cases is what is currently happening in the Mediterranean Sea, where Africans are migrating illegally to Europe. This paper, however, will not look at the European case, but rather what is happening right now in America. The paper will analyze immigration to America, why people immigrate to America, and how the challenge can be mitigated without causing much harm to society. This article, therefore, will deal with keen interest with what is happening on the border between America and Mexico. Over the course of decades, the United States has faced increasing amounts of illegal immigration. The highest percentage of immigrants come from Mexico. Most of these illegal immigrants always offer their services at a lower cost than the American population. While this has a positive effect, it also has a worse negative effect. According to some American cities, a worker should earn at least $30 an hour for the services provided. This is never the case in other states where immigrants have brought cheap labor and accept wages of up to $8 an hour for their work. For employers, this is a good opportunity to take advantage of and earn a lot of money. However, the local job market is put at risk and soon many people will lose their jobs or start dancing to the rhythm of immigrants. The unemployment rate of US citizens will increase if immigrants begin to compete with them for the few jobs already available. One will wonder what the situation will be like in the near future for US citizens when immigrants have taken all the available jobs and start taking such low jobs.
