The reason for this program is to use innovative approaches in developing programs, which will teach young people alternatives to violence, substance abuse, anger problems, low self-esteem and consequences as a result of making poor choices. Non-violence, team building, leadership development and communication skills are promoted during the program. The youth are provided with a neutral and positive environment, so that they can gather from different gangs across the city to work together on their problems and programs. When a young person is referred to the program, they have an intake assessment with their family. “Together, a Program Agreement/Service Plan will be developed based on the individual needs of the youth/family.
