Years of isolation due to race, a subculture has developed that promotes violence, drug dealing, and public assistance as a source of income. Because it is vital that the inhabitants of this community conform to its culture, little time is spent expanding their ability to socialize effectively enough to thrive. Due to this social incompetence, awareness and access to the fundamental elements that determine success are not easily achieved and require a lot of effort.
