We tried sending packages to her but they never arrived. In order to provide basic teaching materials, I had to pack my bags and go there. During this trip I contracted a parasite, which led me to experience being a patient in hospital for a couple of weeks. Up until this point in my life I had never felt completely helpless, helpless and disabled. Teams of health workers came to my rescue. The illness and recovery that followed left me with indelible memories of the compassion, empathy and hard work of the many kind suppliers I dealt with. I felt like my care and recovery were improved by the team-centered approach and this experience, combined with my academic interests and passion for community service, put me firmly on the path to pursuing a career in healthcare sector. After earning my bachelor's degree in Biology, I was accepted into medical school and maintained a 4.0 GPA, despite this I withdrew from the program and began exploring the possibilities of becoming a PA. This research has led me to the conclusion that the medic-pat team approach to medicine is best for communities, both because it provides a higher quality of care and because it allows a larger population to be treated during our current medical therapy.
