The Express, a news company, just gave 100 reasons why global warming is natural, but when you look at the facts it's simply not true. Our earth has had a constant temperature for over 100 years (Nasa)! 100 hundred years! Then one day these so called things called “humans” started building all their factories and completely tarnished our world (Nasa). The year is 1800, all 196 countries have maintained a constant CO2 level for thousands and thousands of years (Ossfindation.USS). The earth should be cooling right now because that would be its “natural cycle” since the earth was in its warming period 10,000 years ago and now needs to be in a slightly cooling period (Nasa). However, in 1800 something happened that changed everything. Instead of being in its “cooling period,” the Earth is now in its “warming period” (Nasa). The reason is what many scientists call global warming, a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the Earth's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by rising levels of carbon dioxide and other pollutants (Oxford Dictionary). In 1800 man created the first factories. The population also grew due to the food surplus, thus leaving more houses, more fires and factories that emitted CO2 into the air (Ossfindation.USS). Time passed and it was in 1940 that scientists realized the first major change due to the consequences of global warming (Nasa). The temperature was rising by 0.2 degrees (UCAR)! In 1980 the temperature had increased by 0.5 degrees (UCAR) and in 2010 it increased by 1.4 degrees (National Geographic). Wake up America! 1.4 degrees is a huge change, it has caused sea levels to rise by 4-8 inches (National Geographic), it has also caused the polar ice caps to decline at the rate of 9% per decade (NRDC).
