Business Operations Project management companies handle various types of projects including: Internet technology, construction projects, medical management projects, marketing and business strategy projects, and more. A project is an effort with a defined beginning and end, intended to create a unique product, service, or outcome (Project Management Institute, 2008). Due to the nature of a project, the skills required for individual jobs vary. In an Internet technology environment, you might create a website, a database, or an entire network. Specific application or programming languages, hardware engineers, or network engineers would be needed, and people with those particular skills would be needed for the job. Manpower needs vary across projects, making agility essential to meeting project needs. To have an agile workforce, alliances with the appropriate technical and business recruiters will need to be developed and maintained. A pipeline of recruiters and contractors could be maintained in an SAP database for quick and easy retrieval of suitable talent. This gives the company several options in contingency planning for any sudden spikes or drops in business.
