All that can truly be seen is what appears before us. What we see on billboards, on television or on the radio consistently shows the point of view of a new political candidate proclaiming what he or she wishes to accomplish. By listening to it, can you create a thought about why they chose that topic for a discussion? Not all people vote today, so those who do are the people these “runners” focus on. Why should they fight to raise school salaries if all the voters are older? Why not focus on retirement benefits or healthcare? As citizens we complain about how the government handles our money and yet we do nothing about it. Voting gives you a chance. If some groups increased their votes, different ideas would be formed for these "runners". Suppose young adults started voting a lot more. We could have tuition benefits, lower college tuition, higher levels of education, and perhaps a large increase in jobs. A UK publisher explains: “If you vote, campaigners urge, politicians will have to listen to you and things will change” (Kirkup, The Telegraph). Young people also have more time available and experience what the country is becoming. To conclude, voting doesn't take much time and requires almost no effort. All this just requires an open mind, yet people simply don't realize this opportunity. We could be living in the richest, most opportunistic country right now if everyone could figure out what would become of our opinions. Life could not be waited for
