“IH has evolved to more closely reflect teamwork and consultative approaches to safety and health management (Plog, 1988). One of the most significant influences of IH is education. They educate workers and employers about the prevention of occupational diseases and stress, potential hazards in the workplace and ensure that workers follow health and safety procedures correctly. They are highly trained and serve as expert safety engineers or managers responsible for an entire IH program. “Indeed, the last two decades have seen a significant collapse of functions into an “SHE” or safety/health/environment function, sometimes with additional responsibilities in areas such as facility safety, workers' compensation administration and other aspects of risk management (Plog,
