INTRODUCTION Nowadays, the economy is growing rapidly, this is a result of the world focusing on economic growth more than other sectors. Finally, such an overwhelming development of the economy has become a crisis for the world. Like global warming, which is an example that reveals the importance of other developing fields, such as social and environmental perspective. In other words, the best way to govern the world is to achieve sustainable development. This book, "Institutional and social innovation for sustainable urban development", edited by Harald A. Mieg and Klaus Töpfer, brings out the message of the importance of social innovation for the progress of sustainable urban development, which is one of the perspectives that we have neglected for a long time and it is one of the essential elements to achieve sustainable development. In this book, the publisher has provided a considerable amount of examples and results to help us understand the topic more fully. For example, one of the book's chapters discussed urban "climate change experiments", which integrated findings from a survey of 100 cities and expanded on UK experiences. HOW SOCIAL INNOVATIONS HELP SUSTAINABLE URBAN DEVELOPMENT Social innovations, in my opinion, are new concepts, ideas, strategies, organizations or even businesses that meet social needs of all kinds, from education and working conditions to community development and health that strengthen and extend society. Social processes of innovation are included in social innovation, where they have a social purpose in meeting community needs. While in this book we investigate recent social innovations for sustainable urban development, such as smart growth... urban development, such as planning and the built environment, institutional economics and sustainable development, but also ethical values and morals we should have in life, such as how institutions and companies have contributed to society. Personally, I think this book is quite interesting Furthermore, the book is well designed and easy to read, which makes me feel comfortable while reading this book. The editors have also included key findings, new methods and international experiences to help us explain more deeply the challenges we have faced in advancing sustainable urban development, and this may be one of the strengths of this book. Therefore, I felt it was worth our time to read this book.
