In the article "The Rule of Thumbs" Moore discusses the use of text messaging in a romantic relationship. Furthermore, he highlights the negative effects that the new generation of technology has had on today's relationships and clearly expresses his thoughts on how technology interferes with today's relationships, resulting in technology slowly killing romance. This essay makes many strong points about the use of SMS and I lean towards Natalie Moore's opinion because SMS has greatly changed the way we communicate, unite and become literate. After all, when analyzing the role that text messaging proves for today's communication, four main controversial points have emerged that, if discussed, it would be easy to realize that texting is a difficult issue to overcome. In other words, texting has not only become part of our lives today and reduced face-to-face interaction, but it has also destroyed dating and the way people text or communicate with someone.
