Topic > Ethics: Ethics is a way of life - 1195

Ethics is a branch of philosophy that addresses questions about morality. It's a lifestyle that questions concepts like right and wrong and applies to our personal and professional lives. If you are able to understand ethics and values you can easily increase your success in professional career. We define ethics as “well-founded standards of right and wrong that prescribe what human beings should do, usually in terms of virtues, beliefs, or even obligations.” In ethics there are many different types of ethical positions. However, specifically, my position would be existentialist. Existentialists are individual thinkers who believe in the freedom of human beings to create their own spirit or also known as individuals who create what they are. Concluding that existentialists create who they are through life decisions. Believing in this ethical position, I believe that everyone is responsible for their own actions. This type of ethical position emphasizes freedom of choice and responsibility for one's actions. I believe the only way people can learn is to learn from their mistakes. It's the only sensible point of view. People will make mistakes and being able to bounce back and learn from your mistakes is a great accomplishment. Existentialism can be seen as a rigorous attempt to work out the implications of individualism. If you think about it, each of us is alone in this world. We experience only our pleasures, our pains and only our fears. We don't even once look at others and feel what they feel. This is exactly why I believe in existentialism. To be successful in life we must understand the complications we are going through in our own life. We need to say... middle of the paper... make people who are being harassed feel safe and let them know that I will talk to the person they have a problem with so we can try to resolve the situation as best as I can. Furthermore, reporting and writing everything down can be a great help in investigations. By having everything written down in a safe place with easy excess, I can stay on the same page with events that are happening. There are many ethical dilemmas that occur in the workforce and sometimes sexual harassment is one of them. Sometimes situations where people get fired are due to small misunderstandings. On the other hand, there are some cases where the individual should absolutely be fired. It all depends on whether workers understand sexual harassment and whether managers take the time to understand what exactly was happening in a specific situation.
