Elaborate window treatments were common for those who could afford them. Opulent draperies were paired with pelmets or otherwise known as pelmets and were often tied back. The capes were embellished with embroidery and trimmings made up of fringes, ropes and tassels. They also sometimes featured Louis XIV's motifs of consecutive L's and sunbursts in the centre. The beds were also luxuriously made and featured the same style of curtains with tiebacks hanging from a canopy or padded scroll. Many of the beds included fabrics embroidered with gold thread.
