I recently saw the movie “The Greatest Showman” and I was very satisfied with it. It is a musical directed by Michael Gracey. As the middle of the song ends, the music with the audience in the circus slowly fades out and the song gradually slows down until the reflection of a young Barnum is seen through a mannequin wearing a suit and top hat. The slow fade indicates the transition from Barnum's fantasy world to harsh reality. This shows how Barnum had his vision of the circus since childhood and how a tailor's son has such an extraordinary imagination. More Movie Reviews The next scene brings out the main message of the film. The scene takes place in a large house owned by Charity's father, Phineas' love interest. Phineas' father is called by Charity's father for a tailoring job. The former is a tailor who belongs to the lower class while the latter belongs to the upper class. Phineas's father takes him with him to work, where Phineas makes Charity laugh and for this reason the father slaps Phineas and tells him to stay away from her. The next scene provides the first exposure to the marginalization and Marxism aspect of the film. This shows how the lower classes were classified in society and how they were oppressed by the upper classes. In the next part of the film, Phineas finally makes up with Charity. He had a small job at a company until it went bankrupt and he became unemployed. He takes a loan from the bank to open a museum. After the bank's approval, the museum opens: “Barnum's American Museum of Curiosities”. He uses wax figures to attract people to come to his museum. His museum eventually fails and he returns home. At night, he goes to his daughters' room to wish them goodnight, where they tell him that "there were too many dead things in the museum and there was nothing living in the museum."
