Since childhood, I have been intrigued by how computer programs work. From how I could write this essay, to how I can control a character in a video game world and have it run smoothly. I believe that a high academic level will further help me prepare for the difficulties that come with pursuing such a rich subject, but with work and commitment, all things become achievable. During my AS exams, I was House Captain, leading my House (A team made up of multiple students from different year groups) at school events, I was the deputy leader of the fundraising committee, as well as helping to manage and organize dances and events. This year I help manage event finances and sales as deputy head of finance, I have also been tasked with the role of deputy head of finance and deputy head of the MUN (Model United Nations), organizing the inclusion of CES in a other MUNS school and teaching our students about MUN procedures. MUN has taught me many things, especially improving my public speaking skills and, by extension, my confidence in all situations. A vital skill to be able to contribute to large foreign communities and new teammates. Maui Thai is one of my passions, a sport that I have begun to take seriously and that I hope to continue in life, during university and beyond. I have been able to balance these important roles with my Maui Thai training and academics by achieving 3 Achiever ratings, allowing me to juggle multiple jobs and tasks without stressing out and losing focus on any of them. Time management is an incredibly important skill, not just for college but for life itself, a skill I am confident I have mastered. I am eager to study computer science so that I can work in this budding industry. More specifically my passion is working in the gaming industry as a game programmer. For me, this is a job I can give my full attention to, a challenging career that requires creativity, hard work, and lots of options within it.
