Topic > Personal Writing: My Grandfather's Personality and Memorable Moments

My Favorite PersonA Southerner, a drinker, a loudmouth, a grumpy old man, are phrases you'd probably use to describe my grandfather, but to me he has a heart of gold. A man who knows no strangers, that pretty much sums him up. He could talk about anything with a person he met for hours. Say no to plagiarism. He is simply an extraordinary man. From the way she looks and the way she acts, you would think she is 20 years younger than she actually is. He knows everything there is to know about cars! When he was younger, he and his brother would buy junk cars, fix them up, and sell them for triple the price they bought them for. He always tells me stories about all the cars he has serviced. He built limousines, sports cars and trucks, but the main thing he made were army jeeps. He said they probably made about 20 of those Jeeps. I always remember when I went to visit him in Alabama there was always a new car in the driveway that he was fixing. Sometimes he let my brother and I help him. I remember when my parents took my brother and sister to Disney World and left me with my grandparents. When they stopped at their house to pick me up, I was under a '75 Chevy with grease on my face and my grandfather at my side. The funny part is, I was only four. I have many memories of my grandfather, but what I will always remember about him are all his habits. It's just the little things he does that really stick with me. For example: him drinking his Wild Turkey. He always drinks a cup of Wild Turkey right before bed, and when he travels he keeps it in a fake book labeled David and How He Makes It. He always brags about how much he reads that book. It's fun. I think the main thing I'll remember him for is his screaming. I know it sounds bad, but it characterizes it. Without it, it wouldn't be the same. He gets excited about this and that, basically stupid things that he gets frustrated about. He always yells if you do something he doesn't like or if he wants you to do something for him. The phrase I think he's famous for is Damn, bring me another beer. This is the phrase we always say when we talk about him. You could call it his call sign. Please note: this is just an example. Get a custom paper from our expert writers now. I don't know if I'm in denial that it will happen eventually, or that I love him so much that I don't want to think about how I'll feel when it happens. All I know is that I will never forget him and that no matter what happens I will always love him. He is my grandfather.
