But where and when was this useful source of energy founded? Well Solar energy was first introduced in 1768. Horace de Saussure introduced solar energy to Switzerland when he built the first solar collector. Reassurances about using solar energy have started to become a common trend. In 1838 Edmond Becquerel once again observed the use of solar energy. He published all his research and findings on the conversion of sunlight into energy. If it weren't for discoveries and research like this, we would never have known all the opportunities and benefits that come with using solar energy. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? Get an Original Essay Over time, more and more civilians around the world have started using solar energy. Today, many factories, houses, equipment, etc. depend on solar energy. Our school, Campo Verde High School, for example, is a great example of a facility dependent on solar energy. We have managed to make our school more environmentally friendly simply by installing solar panels to obtain some of the energy, heat and electricity we need. Solar energy is the primary source of energy in our town of Robsonville. It can provide all the necessities we need to keep our city running. Without the use of solar energy our city would not only damage the environment but also require the installation of another energy source which would change the dynamics of how our city functions.Using Solar EnergyThe solar energy that we produce and use as the main source of energy in our city is used for multiple purposes. We use it to heat the air in places like hospitals, homes, schools and more. We also use it to provide hot water to all places in the city. Finally, we use it as a source of electricity. It provides all the electricity throughout our city. Solar energy is useful for all the aspects listed above, however the only disadvantage of using solar energy is that it does not provide gas. For this, we have dug small oil holes to provide the necessary fuel gas. On the bright side, most cars and appliances used in our city are generated by electricity, which means that most of the things we use need electricity (not gas/oil) to run. That said, our annual consumption of oil and gas is very small. In addition to electricity, many appliances rely on heat. Solar energy has high heat production. It is capable of heating everything that electricity cannot heat. That said, heat and electricity (both produced by solar energy) can power almost everything used in our city. There are different types of solar energy collectors that emit different types of energy. Solar collectors provide space heating or hot water. Solar cells provide electricity, converted by the sun. Power towers, while not cheap, also provide electricity. Luz Solar helps solar collectors heat a synthetic oil that drives steam turbines. Last but not least are solar ponds that “generate low temperature water”. If it weren't for solar energy thereour city would emit high pollution and damage the environment. Not only that, but we should find many more energy source options to keep our city running as smoothly as possible. Bottom line: solar energy has given us success. Solar energy changes over timeHow do we know if solar energy has changed over time? Based on the amount of energy produced and how it flocculated, we can tell if and how it has changed over months, years, and even decades. Today, solar energy is more advanced than ever. We are now able to produce solar energy more quickly and efficiently than ever before. Now, we can produce it in a way that allows us to use more of it. Today, solar energy is used for much more. As technology increases, more heat and electricity are used and managed to create “today's latest.” Fuel-efficient cars (that run on electricity) are created and with the benefits of solar energy such cars can be produced and sold. Today, many more civilians know about the environment and want to help it. Solar energy is a simple and fantastic way that people can help preserve the beauty we have. Many homes, schools and cooperative businesses install solar panels to reduce electricity and gas consumption. This way, less fumes enter the environment. Little things like these have a huge impact on the future of our environment. Today, solar energy has progressed and changed tremendously, and today more people than ever are aware of environmental problems and are using solar energy to do their part to help society. .The cost According to Solar Energy-USA, a “larger 30-panel system that has a total output of 6,900 watts (6.9 kW) costs $5 dollars per watt.” Many solar panel energy systems are also available for rental (thesolarco.com). Wholesalesolar.com offered them, depending on the model, type and other factors, ranging in price from $0.95 to $2.28 per watt. This is extremely convenient to harness and provide because it comes from sunlight, which is unlimited. It will always be available for use by humans as long as the sun shines, and it is a renewable source with a virtually unlimited supply! The average electricity consumption per person in 2010 was approximately 11,496 kilowatt hours per year (eia.gov). The aforementioned 30-panel system would provide 6,900 watts, a significant reduction in the solar energy that must be paid for. This would result in savings for the consumer and greener options for energy sources, which is better for the environment. There are also many other financial incentives for using solar energy, such as interest-free financing, tax deductions, savings on energy bills, and rebates (solarenergy-usa.com). Maintenance of solar panels is rarely necessary, although it is recommended to check them occasionally for cleanliness and to ensure they are still in good condition (thesolarco.com). However, this can be done by the consumer and does not require a paid professional. Solar panel costs are calculated in kilowatts of energy rather than BTUs or joules. The amount of energy available from sunlight is infinite, waiting to be harvested. For these reasons, installing solar panels is a great idea to move towards a greener society, with more energy efficient resources. Using solar energy in our city will reduce energy costs in the long run, as well as reduce waste and CO2 emissions used to procure energy. Our city will rely on energy from the sun to power our schools, homes, apartments, businesses and government facilities, increasing energy efficiency and reducingharmful consequences of common forms of non-renewable energy sources. EfficiencySolar energy is better at providing energy than many other sources, both renewable and non-renewable, for many reasons. The sun's energy is very versatile; it can be collected even in places that are not extremely sunny, unlike wind turbines, which require large amounts of wind to be effective (1bog.org). To harvest hydroelectric energy, it is necessary to build dams, which are expensive and alter ecosystems (1bog,org). Burning biomass emits CO2, and growing crops used to produce biomass energy, such as sugarcane, takes up land to grow it ( 1bog,org). This land could be used for other purposes and CO2 emissions could be avoided. Solar energy is better than non-renewable resources for the obvious reasons that it will not run out. As the world's resources of coal, oil and natural gas are depleted by human consumption, sunlight will not run out and can be used to generate a lot of energy for an infinite period of time without harming the atmosphere or the environment in any way, a difference between fossil fuels and non-renewable resources. Fossil fuels, such as oil, petroleum and natural gas are difficult to harvest because they are found in large concentrated quantities, with only a limited amount on Earth (they do not regenerate fast enough to be considered renewable) and have an energy efficiency rating of 45% for oil and 35% for coal, while solar panels can produce anywhere around 40% in the lab, in the real world around 11-19% (1bog.org). Although solar panels are less efficient, this is due to the unlimited quality of the resource. We will use solar energy to power our city, decreasing the traditional consequences of non-renewable resources such as CO2 emissions, land destruction, depletion of limited supplies of non-renewable resources and the human health consequences of modern harvesting of energy. Overall, solar energy is definitely a better choice for our city, for humans, and for the Earth. Where is it used? Solar energy is widely used in residential and urban areas because it is easily collected. In general, solar panels can be seen on the roofs of houses, blending in with the roof so that it is camouflaged, whilst being in the best possible sun collection spot on the property. Driving through any given neighborhood, someone is likely to see at least a few homes with solar panels on them and know that the resident is using the sun's generous and endless flow of energy to their advantage. Also on the Campo Verde campus we see solar panels on top of the ramada near the cafeteria, which help collect solar energy. When someone sees a solar energy panel on the roof of a home, they may know that that energy is used to power furnaces, lights, televisions, computers, electronic chargers, radios, and even to open garage doors. Solar energy will be used in our city in the form of several large panels to power most of the city, which will be located near the railway. There will also be a few other solar panels that will be spaced out, including one near the single-family home neighborhood to power those homes. Our solar energy panels will constantly collect the sun's rays and use them to power the city, including schools, individual homes, shopping centers and industrial facilities. Using this precious and infinite resource will be very beneficial for our city, as it will only require one investment at the beginning and, in the long run, lower overall energy costs. It will be even moreecological because it does not emit any CO2 or completely alter the Earth's landscape (damaging ecosystems). It doesn't pose health problems to humans like many fossil fuels do, so investing in solar energy is definitely a good idea for our city. Installing solar panels throughout the city, on the roofs of homes, and using massive panels throughout the city will help power our city and make it one of the greenest energy-producing cities in America. The positive aspects Solar energy is used very widely all over the world. It is often considered a zero-emission energy or often considered not to contribute to the greenhouse effect. Enough solar energy falls on a 100-square-mile area of the southwestern United States to power the entire nation, which is a good thing, because solar energy is among the cleanest forms of energy in the world. One positive effect it has is that it releases only a small amount of carbon dioxide. This is good because with the growing problem of our atmosphere, if we were to use solar energy we would not be contributing to it. This also helps what people know as climate change, because as global warming occurs due to our use of energy, solar energy will be a way to use the energy and not contribute to the growing problem. Another positive effect would be the lack of water consumption. With other ways of producing energy we use large quantities of water to produce energy. In the United States, electricity generation accounts for more than 40% of all daily freshwater withdrawals. To create solar energy, it takes little to no water. This will help reduce the amount of fresh water the country uses to create energy. Furthermore, if we want to use solar energy, we can help reduce the land space used. Solar panels are often installed on the roofs of buildings, rather than in a power plant. By getting the population to use solar energy, we can save space. There is also a visual aspect to using solar panels. Some people believe that when you place solar panels on a building, or in nature, it evokes positive feelings and can be considered beautiful. Some may disagree, but it's all in the eye of the beholder. The Negatives The negative effects of solar energy are minimal because solar energy is the cleanest form of energy that exists right now. Most of the side effects of solar energy are often overlooked and go unnoticed because its positive effects are so many. One negative effect of solar energy is that it actually releases carbon dioxide into the air. Carbon dioxide is released in the production and distribution of solar panels in homes and offices. This often goes unnoticed, because most products will have the same situation, but it is a present effect. This will disprove the idea that solar panels are a zero-emission form of energy. Furthermore, because we are producing these solar panels on such a large scale, we are bound to release forms of toxins into our atmosphere. Another concern with solar energy is that large-scale parabolic trough and central tower solar power systems use steam plants to produce power, often relying on water for cooling. This used water cannot be reused and therefore creates pressure on the fresh water in the surrounding area. People often consider solar energy to be the most land-efficient, but utility-scale solar farms require large amounts of land to produce electricity on a commercial scale. This is due to the growingsize of our solar parks. One of the main negative effects is expected to be the problem of hazardous waste. People have found evidence that solar panels, mainly those found in a solar farm, release hazardous waste into our environment. When we concentrate solar panels together, solar energy systems can also use potentially hazardous materials such as oils and molten salts, creating the risk of spills. The final negative effect that solar energy has on the environment is the visual aspect. Some people believe that solar energy has a positive connotation and is therefore beautiful, but many disagree. Many find it disgusting to place solar panels in a quiet natural environment. I should be one who agrees. Future plans Research shows that solar energy is one of the most efficient energy sources. For this reason, solar energy plans simply call for expansion. They plan to find more opportunities to incorporate solar energy into our world. This includes installing solar panels in multiple business and corporate settings. This will benefit the company because solar panels are often very cheap. One plan is to find a way to make it three-dimensional for greater efficiency. Right now, scientists at MIT and other major universities and companies around the world are developing new designs for these panels. By making them three-dimensional it is possible to use solar panels even on the cloudiest days. These 3D panels are expected to deliver more than double the energy compared to traditional flat panels. Within a few years, 3D panels will completely replace flat models. The government also plans to have solar fields operated by the government. These fields provide a large amount of energy, which the government can then distribute wherever it is needed. In the future, more and more companies will build these fields around the world to provide clean and safe energy everywhere. Furthermore, it is expected to find ways to reduce costs. By lowering the cost of solar panels we give more incentives to those who spend more on their energy bills. The cost will be lower, because thanks to the new technology the solar panels will last about 30 years longer. The cost of operating and maintaining solar energy is so low that the future could bring lower energy prices for people around the world. Lower energy costs will allow individuals more freedom and can also provide energy to countries that cannot afford the high prices of current fossil fuels. Why continue? Humans should continue to use solar panels as a way to obtain energy because it is one of the easiest ways to obtain energy. By using coal and other types of fossil fuels, the industry would have to burn many of these non-renewable resources. Not only is it a dirty method, but it emits many harmful pollutants into the atmosphere, such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and even carbon dioxide. As it is mined, it can cause environmental damage such as erosion and habitat destruction. For coal mining, it can be dangerous for miners because it can collapse and explode with gas. It is almost the same for oil extraction and can cause many negative effects, such as killing marine organisms whenever oil spills occur. Solar energy is a safer energy production technique than nuclear energy. Although nuclear energy can produce a large amount of electricity, it is very dangerous when dealing with power plants. It has excesses, poor management and numerous regulations. When an accident occurs, the entire surrounding place will be covered with radioactive and non-radioactive materials.
